Type 304L stainless steel wire mesh is the same as Type 304 stainless steel wire mesh, except for its extra-low carbon content which allows for superior welding. Specifically, the low carbon content helps to minimize carbide precipitation when welding, allowing T-304L wire cloth to be used without subsequent annealing of the weld joints, even in corrosive environments. Stainless steel Type 304 and 304L is non-magnetic when annealed and slightly magnetic when cold finish. Chemical composition and main properties of wire steel grade AISI 304 of ASTM A580-18 corresponds to the requirements to steel grade ISO name X5CrNi18-10 (number 4301-304-00-I) according to ISO 15510-2014 and steel grade EN 1.4301 (X5CrNi18-10) according to ЕN 10088-3:2014.
Corrosion resistance AISI T-304 and T-304L stainless steel has good resistance to atmospheric and intergranular corrosion, including in saturated steam, when operating at high and low temperatures and in aggressive environments, in solutions of nitric, acetic, phosphoric acids, alkali solutions and salts, in sea water; steel grade AISI 304 is recommended for use as corrosion-resistant; used in highly aggressive environments; steel grade AISI 304 is unstable in sulphurous environments
