Woven bronze wire cloth. High-tech wire fabric
Woven bronze wire cloth and fabric are produced with micron aperture sizes from 0.04mm to 0.063mm. Bronze wire cloth is distinguished by corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, good solderability, and corrosion resistance. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, does not spark when rubbed against solid particles, so bronze woven mesh is also used in explosive and flammable atmospheres or for screening particles when sparks are to be avoided. Bronze wire fabric is often used for separating current-dispersed bulk materials into fractions of micron sizes, for filtering gases and liquids. They also find their application in test and laboratory sieves, barrier filters in medical devices, air and oil purification equipment, and in radio electronics.
Bronze wire cloth and fabric are made of phosphor bronze grade C51900 (CuSn6), copper 92%, tin 6%. Phosphor bronze is resistant to corrosion in air, in fresh water, in dry halogen gases, in dry steam, in antifreezes, alcohols, freons; is relatively stable in alkalis; unstable in wet saturated steam, mine water, oxidizing solutions, chlorides, mineral acids, hydrogen sulfide, fatty acids, environments containing sulfur dioxide or ammonia; bronze wire cloth should not be used in contact with iron, aluminum and zinc due to contact corrosion, leading to its rapid destruction.
